Summary!

I have yet to finish the novel but so far the story takes place in a small town in New Hampshire where nothing extravagant ever happens.  Josie Cormier, the daughter of the town judge, is a popular girl who isn't happy with herself.  She has the perfect boyfriend, perfect clothes, and perfect friends but she cries every morning in the shower because she hates who she is.  She has a poor relationship with her mother and takes on a lot of the responsibilites that she shouldn't have to at her age.  Josie and her popular friends torment Peter Houghton, a nerdy student who has been bullied all of his life, so badly that it pushes him over the edge and he resorts to shooting up the school.  Josie's mom is stuck in a sticky situation when she is appointed with Peter's case, which her daughter is apart of.
